CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

We all look for that something special and memorable to do with our family and friends during the Christmas season. It has to be something that will entertain everyone in the family from Grandma and Grandpa to our dear little toddlers. The Christmas Memories series at the Salem Cross Inn fits the bill perfectly.

Start a new tradition this year by coming to the Christmas Memories. Enjoy a play based on Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales. Listen to the Stageloft Repertory Theater performers dressed in 19th century costumes sing over 20 carols. Better yet, sing along with them and rekindle memories of Christmases past while making memories of the Christmas present. The actors circulate throughout the room so everyone feels like a part of the festivities.

What's a celebration without food? A traditional New England turkey dinner takes center stage for this one. Start with a tossed garden salad with the chef's homemade creamy Italian dressing, freshly made squash muffins and white dinner rolls. Indulge yourself with fresh, moist turkey with Grandmother's traditional bread stuffing, and giblet gravy, real whipped potatoes, and fresh butternut squash seasoned to perfection. Complete the meal with a scoop of peppermint stick ice cream rolled in chocolate cake crumbs, topped with Salem Cross Inn's famous hot fudge, whipped cream, and a candy cane.

Join in the wassail toast and raise a glass to your new tradition. Glasses filled with farm fresh apple cider will be lifted to commemorate the holiday season.
